The Medical Society Of Virginia Foundation

More than 1 million Virginians have no health insurance. While paying for prescription medications is a burden for many, it is impossible for some. In fact, more than one in four uninsured Virginians go without needed medications because they cannot afford to pay for their prescriptions.

The Medical Society of Virginia Foundation is partnering with like-minded organizations to improve the provision of free medications to Virginia's uninsured patients through

 
 

 

 

 

"As a pharmacist I have witnessed first-hand the difficulty some patients face in paying for their medications. All it takes is a serious illness to spin their precarious financial situation out of control. It is because of the patient who brings me $5 and asks how many pills of his prescription that small amount will buy that I am committed as a legislator to serve as an advocate for these types of programs. I want to be able to offer that patient an opportunity to get back on the road to health."
