Karen A. Jamison
Williamsburg
Mrs. Jamison has played an instrumental part in developing and growing the mission of the MSV Foundation. As a community leader, Mrs. Jamison has brought positive change in the arenas she cares most passionately about: community health and human services, historic preservation, conservation, beautification and education. She has served as President of the MSV Alliance, the United Way of Greater Williamsburg, and the City of Williamsburg Tricentennial Celebration Beautification Committee, and The Council of Garden Clubs. She is a former Williamsburg- James City County School Board member, and serves on several community Boards of Directors, including: The Foundation for the Preservation of the Virginia Executive Mansion, The Executive Board of the Williamsburg Botanical Garden, and the Corridor Enhancement Committee for Historic Jamestown 2007.

Carol S. Shapiro, MD, MBA
Woodbridge
Dr. Shapiro started her plastic surgery practice in Prince William County in July 1972, and she affirms that she "love[s] my practice of plastic surgery-there is hardly anything else I would rather do." She is also deeply committed to improving organized medicine. In each of her roles as delegate to the AMA, former president of the MSV, and former President of the Medical Staff at Potomac Hospital and Prince William Hospital, Dr. Shapiro has led efforts to improve the quality of health care. She currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Virginia Health Quality Center and on the Board of Visitors of Virginia Commonwealth University. Her commitment to medicine has earned Dr. Shapiro many recognitions and honors, including: being rated a "top doctor" by the Washingtonian; the AMA's Physician's Recognition Award (9-time recipient); the National Museum of Women's History: Women Making History Award; Distinguished Woman Award, Prince William County; and House Joint Resolution of Commendation, Virginia State Legislature. Dr. Shapiro completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Pittsburgh, and received her medical degree from Women's Medical College (now Drexel University Medical School) followed by a residency in plastic surgery at Georgetown University Hospital where she now serves as a clinical professor. She recently earned her MBA from George Mason University.

Kenneth D. Tuck, MD
Roanoke
Dr. Tuck is a very highly regarded ophthalmologist and community leader. He is active in all aspects of organized medicine and has served as president of the MSV Foundation, the Medical Society of Virginia, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Virginia Society of Ophthalmology, and the Virginia Medical Political Action Committee. Together with Dr. Walker, Dr. Tuck revitalized the MSV Foundation and realized the vision of a charitable arm of the MSV that would work to improve the quality of and access to health care in Virginia. He graduated cum laude from Maryville College and received his medical degree from the University of Virginia. Dr. Tuck serves as President of the Maryville College Alumni Association; on the Board of Directors of the Foundation for Roanoke Valley; and on the Board of the International Rotary.

Kenneth J. Walker, MD
Pearisburg
Dr. Walker was instrumental in the revitalization of the MSV Foundation and has taken an active role in building programs and initiatives that further the Foundation s mission. Dr. Walker purposefully chose to practice medicine in a rural area because of his strong desire to provide social justice for underserved populations and his commitment to public health issues. He and his wife, Mary Ann, successfully founded their rural practice in an area of need in the Commonwealth, and Dr. Walker has applied his expertise in this area to advance the health of his community by serving as the Medical Director for both Riverview Nursing Home and Carilion Giles Memorial ICF, on the medical staff of Carilion Giles Memorial Hospital, and as the County Medical Examiner. He is the Immediate Former President of the Virginia Board of Medicine and has served on several public health task forces including the Virginia Attorney General s Prescription Drug Abuse Task Force, Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Health Professions: Advisory Committee on the Prescription Monitoring Program, and Project Immunize Giles. Dr. Walker is graduated summa cum laude from Saint Bonaventure University, received his medical degree from the University of Virginia, and completed his residency at VCU/MCV.
